The Square Speaks
Editorial Design | 2025 | Manchester, UK
This project is a site‑specific newspaper that captures the essence of Stevenson Square through a playful yet editorial visual format. Inspired by the experimental layouts and intentional imperfections found in Useless Magazine by Molly Oxley, the publication blends bold typography, candid imagery, and expressive compositions to reflect the vibrant character of the area. The design embraces a mix of structured grid systems and spontaneous visual disruptions, creating a balance between nostalgia and contemporary graphic language. By combining product elements, environmental details, and emotional cues from the site, the newspaper functions as both a visual documentation and an artistic reinterpretation of the space. The result is a tactile, immersive publication that feels familiar like a traditional newspaper yet fresh and modern through its experimental aesthetic.
